What we do

Working together for lasting impact

Whether it’s through hands-on facilitation, behind-the-scenes strategy, or sector-wide thought leadership, we work with people to turn ideas into action and build the conditions for lasting impact.

At Public Value Studio, we know that meaningful change starts with people. That’s why every project we take on is shaped by the context, grounded in the voices of community members and stakeholders, and tailored to local strengths, challenges, and aspirations.

Our pillars

While each project is different, our approach is guided by four key pillars that underpin all our work.

Inspire

We encourage people to think differently about their work with communities—expanding their vision of what’s possible and the impact they can achieve.

Inform

We are committed to sharing knowledge. Whether through open dialogue, reflective practice, or peer learning, we create spaces where people can learn from each other and grow together.

Enable

We support people and programs to take action—helping communities build the confidence, skills, and networks they need to lead change from within.

Empower

We advocate for the shifts needed in systems and structures so that communities have a real say in the decisions that affect their lives.

These pillars come to life in many different ways

Depending on the context and need, our work has included:

Facilitating leadership and capacity-building programs for community members

Creating frameworks that embed community voice in organisational planning

Undertaking participatory research and evaluation with community co-researchers

Designing grant programs and funding models that are accessible and community-led

Establishing and guiding community advisory groups and reference panels

Supporting organisations to strengthen their systems and strategies for civic engagement

Advising on co-design processes, strategic planning, and deliberative practice

Writing thought pieces and delivering talks to spark new thinking about participation

Supporting the volunteering sector through targeted workshops and training
